What would you guy's reccomend for a street motor? I've had a unilite with matched coil before, didn't have any complaints. Been thinking about an MSD setup, or should I go with a stock style distributer with some upgrade's. Just looking for the opinion of other's. Like I say, just a street motor not for the strip. Thank's, Dave.

I use MSD equipment on my blown 72 nova and have never had a problem with it.

Thank's, Dave. A regular GM HEI with a standard Module is all you will need. Easy to get parts, inexpensive and reliable.
The MSD will do nothing but show how much $$ you spent and just another part to keep track of and excess wiring.

I know a lot of people like HEI's, and they work just fine. I also believe that there really isn't any substancial power to be had with an ign upgrade.
In my experience with my older worn engines, I had HEI, a unilite with hyfire box, and now I have an MSD 6AL and dist. I will say that the MSD has certainly helped clean up my idle, and plug life is much longer. It's also very easy to change curves with the MSD dist. Again, I don't think it contributed to any more power output, but it helped make my engine a bit more civilized, and has other nice bennies like a rev limiter. JMHO smile.gif

What bulb122 said. I'm running a simple Accel HEI on mine and it seems to be doing good. I might go to a MSD setup, but it would only be for the rev limiter.

Unilite and MSD BlasterII coil is all I have. Ya don't need the boxes unless you need a rev limiter.
