In my 67 Chevelle I am replacing my small block V8 with a big block. My radiator is mounted 5 or 6 inches away from the radiator support with a sheet metel spacer(oringinal). I know when the Big block goes in the spacer will have to go. My question is, Does the radiator mount directly to the support bracket or is there a smaller spacer I need to get?

On my 66 SS the radiator bolts directly to the rad. support--no spacers.

Hey Joe,
Agree with Jax, but don't forget to put correct fan shroud in place they really make a difference. mgg

I have a 67 with 396. I have a reproduction 4 row radiator. It bolts right to the support. There is about 1.5 to 2.5 inches between the stock 4 blade fan and the radiator.

Your small block radiator may not be big enough to cool a big block. Get at least a 3 row. 4 row is good.
