Well I have been debating getting rid of all my cars and parts since I had my barn go down in a wind storm on top of all my cars back in summer 06.
I have just lost interest and put the 66 Impala on the block last fall due to it being a project that I had just started working on 05-06.
Long story short guy showed up to look at Impala and bought it and ask about my 69 Camaro and bought it and then he ask about my 65 Chevelle convertible that I have had since 1981. It is a numbers matching 283/195 that I put a Holley 450cfm 4bbl on back in the day. But I still have the original intake, carb and breather. The car has 110K original miles and I rebuilt the 283 when it had only 89K on it do to the rings. The car is mechanically like new, engine, trans, rear, brakes, shocks, front end, etc. I have the Protect-O-plate for the car and as far as I can remember I was the 3rd owner.
It needs body work from barn beams denting drivers fender and trunk and just because it hasn't been redone since 1983, paint, new top, pads, interior, and carpet. Original color is Imron white, but was painted 65 Serria Tan Poly (gold) back in 83.

I figure 12K-15K the way she sets. I try and be fair to people and try to sale as I would want to be treated as a buyer. So guys whats she worth? Dont worry about hurting my feelings. Just tell me what they are going for all #'s matching etc.
You can hop in it and drive anywhere on trips etc, it is a 100% dependable car since I have had it and gets 22mgh when I drove it to TN once.

After pics are first, before pics are last.

I wouldn't take less than $12k for it. It looks solid. If the only body work need is the trunk and the fender, start at $15k and go from there. If you give it a good wash and wax, it would definitely help. If it was a SS, you could probably add another $3 to it. Most of the 64/65 convertibles on E-bay have been running $25k and up. I have had a couple of people ask about mine and I tell them 8k for both and I get the deer in the head light look.

I think the 12-15 range is right in the ballpark

agree 12 to 15K, plus add an additional $100 for the NCOA sticker in the window. you can't get those anymore

just had an additional thought. why don't you attend CB08 this year. maybe your spirit will be rekindled!

I would go with 15K-20K (I'm probably a little biased in my opinion though :D)

Thanks guys for the replies back to let me know I am thinking in the ballpark for a solid car, needing no mechanical work, just TLC on body, paint, int, top.

Now I have to make a decision and its about a 60 sale/40 keep right now in the $12-$14 range. Just afraid to call the guy that took the 66-69 away Monday, because the loss hasn't seemed to settle in yet.

I wonder how many 65's have the original manuals like I have for this one, Operation and care of Folding Top power operated book, Chevy Owner Protection Plan book with Protect-O-Plate, 65 Custom Feature Acc book, Original Owners Manual. These came with car new, NOT copies that they have came out with years back.

So how long has the NCOA been defunct?
Must be why some guy wanted all my back issues about 12 years ago.

I keep picturing it painted in 65 Mist Blue with the 2 tone blue int with white top like the ones I found below. Decisions decisions.

Since around 2000 or so. It's sad, but the good news there's something better! :D

And you need to be in on it! Don't sell the car just show up in Tn. in about 15 days and bring the car with you! You'll be glad you did. You will have no more thought's of selling your car. If you had ever been to a NCOA Convention, imagine that and multiply by 1000.

And your right. "The Chevelle Report" is very desireable. At least in IMO.
