Coolness! Ten second street cars are always nice. My sons and I always take notice of fast Novas. We will build one someday.

Nice, My Son's car will be a similar blue if everything goes as planned. I always liked Novas.

Nice looking Nova, Ron....but what really caught my eye is that red pickup in the back ground. Is that a '98 Dakota standard cab? Could it possibly have the Magnum V-6 with an automatic transmission, radio and heater? Bug guard? WOW. Whoever owns that thing must be a real stud.

Missed this whole season doing the new engine....my engine guy has one speed, and it's s;ow.
I'll be out next year as often as I can. As long as the car doesn't break.

 You don't really mean 2006 do you?

No, 2005!....he is not that slow.
We better be on the dyno in 2 weeks. After that, it's simple to put the car back together. I just hope the exh bolts back up, the AFR heads move the ports a bit. As long as it's only up...and not further apart, I'll be ok.
I run the Dr. Gas X setup, and it's all welded together. If the AFR heads move the headers out even a little, I'll have to hack and cut to get it all to fit. At that point I'll switch to the 3.5 head pipes into the X with 3" outlets.
Beside, we know that here in Oregon it rains till July......
This new engine will require a good track with my 10" slicks, so I have no problem waiting till either PIR or Woody gets the groove intact. Last thing I need is a good start line with a poor 330ft area.

Nice ride Ron. You run at PIR or Woodburn or both as a regular racer in the brackets or for just for fun? I'm hoping to get some more track time this year myself.

Well Thank you Jeff!
From 98 to 01 I ran Woodburn in the bracket wars. Not every week though, just when I was able. Pro bracket there is tough.
In 02 I ran PIR exclusively...the 4 mile drive is better thn the 40 mile drive to Woodburn.
I had made it to 8th in points then proceeded to lose 1st round the final 4 weeks and raced myself off the team. I lost the final race to a newbie who I knew, he came and apologised for beating me and I said to NEVER apologise for winning. I left there and never went back.
Brackets are fun unless you expect to be good. I'm not. And I got REAL tired of losing close races.
I raced only once the following year for fun at the late night street legal drags.
PIR then instituted a Street Legal program that looked to be real interesting.....but the whole deal trned into a Nitrous or Turbo event. Sorry for me because I began building a new engine to compete with in the all motor a class that will never become a reality.
So I guess I'll go back to Woodburn and play in the bracket wars.....and maybe to PIR from time to time for fun.
To be honest, I'd rather have the $8K in the stock market.
What car do you have, and I hope to see you out next year!

If I can get it running by spring. If not I'll play with Old Blue some more( I still would like it to get kicked off the track :D ):

Most likely I will try to do some spectating on racedays and play on street legal days for now.

Blue has been 12.23 @110 with an untuned suspension. Haven't messed too much with it yet. Hope to tweak it to 12.0. My buddy is already asking me if I'm ready for opening day graemlins/clonk.gif I'll keep my eye out for you, Ron and Sean smile.gif
