I took my 71 out for the first ride of the year today and hammered a couple of speed bumps !
It appears that the coil springs sagged and I lost almost 3/4 of an inch over the winter layover.
I want to try a set of Moog 5398 coil springs out.
They spec at: .656 wire size / 1678 load / 365 lbs per inch / and and installed hgt of 16.06 .
Anyone tryed these?
I am going for a stock ride hgt and it is an iron headed big block car.
Any feedback much appreciated!
Thanks all.

i tried the moog f41 replacemnt springs two years ago. I replaced my original f41's thinking they had maybe sagged after 30 some-odd years of use. Boy was I wrong! I ordered my moogs and installed them only to discover to my horror that they caused a lowering of my vehicle. I double checked the package and parts number with my supplier and was told, Yes, they were indeed f41 replacements. I quickly reinstalled my original f41's and my car returned to its original stock height. My supplier had had similar complaints from other buyers of the same springs.
That was a costly lesson learned at the expense of my wallet.
Stick with stock f41's if you can and stay away from aftermarket ones such as moog.

Johnny, the spring you mentioned is 1860.5 lbs. at a compressed height of 11". The spring i suggested comes in at 2069 lbs. at 11". To put this in a better perspective i had new 5390 1952lbs. stock bb spring in my 69 thought car looked a little low, so i swapped them for 5400 2171 lbs. then car sat a little on the high side, so common sense dictates splitting the difference. I will try and upload a picture into the showroom for you to view. Hope this will help my experience has shown me that what some people view as a great stance others may not agree.
