have a '71 malibu. was my first car, it was bone stock when i got it. in high school i rebuilt the old 350, bored it out 30 over, hotter cam, nice set of lungs. sold it when i got into the trade(union pipefitter) for better mileage getter. a couple of weeks ago i got it back. now that i make good money i want to do it right. i was thinking about a 502 ramjet, a manual switch over and a m-21, and ford 9" with 411's.
what do you'ins think? any feedback is appreciated

Welcome. You sound like our kind of people ;) Hey, You are one!
That's a cool story and now you have so many combinations to ponder. The best advice since your car is virtually a blank canvas right now,
1. Reserach all your options and what the final result will be.
2. Devise a plan and stick with it. Kinda how Chip Foose does on Overhaulin.
3. Build your car so that you may derive as much pleasure from it as often as possible. Example: Nice brakes, suspension, drivibility, reliability and comfort. Then design a drivetrain. I'll tell you right now, transmssions and rear gear ratios can do much more than a motor for excitement and smiles per miles. ;)
Have you considered an stroked LS motor and 6 speed? Check it out!
