Does anyone know what happened to the Hot Rod Power Club? It seems to have disappeared, if it ever existed at all.

I just got a notice this week from HR magazine saying I was a "prefered customer" and would qualify for charter member status. Of course I have to act quickly to still qualify. To answer your question, apparently the HR club is still around but I don't think I'll be spending $30 a year just to be a member. No offense to any other members out there but it seems as though since they went public they're just trying another way to make a buck. Just my .02, Bob

If the club is so great, why do they feel the need to push it so hard. Having a fictional endorsement was just TOO strange!

They list all sorts of companies that are "involved", but not what the involvement is.

Heck, if they would just come out and say that a company like Summit will give a 10% discount, I'd join (that's just an example and I'm NOT saying that Summit gives discounts).

Hey Wes, as far as I know Summit is not involved at all. Most of the companies that are involved do give 10% discounts, others give hats or t-shirts with purchases. You also get a coupon each quarter that allows you to buy one ticket for a Petersen event and get one free. If you go to these, you can get you money's worth really fast at 20 bucks a pop. They aren't coming to Indiana this year so I may be S O L. I'm a member only because, if I'm not "completely satisfied at any time during the year, I can a 100% refund no questions asked". Don't believe that line about product testing, only certain members are selected each quarter. If you have any questions about specific companies, or anything else, I'll tell you what I know.

I used the "Summit" name JUST to state what would get me interested! I knew that it would add confusion.

I am completely dissappointed with the "new" Hot Rod magazine, their power club and their power tour. Not only do I feel like I'm being scammed by an old friend, I feel like they enjoy doin' it.

To hell with Hot Rod Magazine!

(the power club stickers look awfully cool on my toolbox though) http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

I think I will vote with Bob Bryan. Although we did go on the Power Tour and had a great time. I may pay for that again.

I'm with you DZ- I had a great time on the Power Tour. As far as the club, I'm not in on that one.

I went on the tuor this year and the year before. There was some differences between the 2 years. There was no food provided this year. The driver meetings were the night before and there was no place where the drivers could meet and then get on the road. Everyone just had to leave from wherever they were staying and that kind of sucked. I have to say that overall the tour was great and iI will be going again next year. I just hope that there are no further cutbacks for next year.
