I was just wondering if any of you have bought their meds out of the USA?
The only meds I take is Crestor 10mg and here local pharmacy it cost me $145.00 a month for 30 pills.

And online I have found this place that will sell me the same brand Crestor (not generic) less.
I can get 40mg x 90 pills for $155.00 plus $9.00 shipping. I can cut the pills in half.
And they even give you 6 pills of viagra for free, LOL not that I need them.
What I am asking is this legal? And I sure can see why everything cost's so much in this country now but jeezzz what a price gouge I have been paying here.

Even your politicians put out the scare tactics about the quality of Canadian drugs as if we are some third world country with less than good standards. Nothing further from the truth. A doctor I go to, was telling me that American insurance companies send patients up here to him for treatments. They gladly pay over $2K for treatments that he would charge us $250.00 or less. Buying drugs up here will only be illegal if the drug companies can get it pushed through into law. Right now we have Bill C-51, which will make many of the health store items prescription drugs and those that don't pass the test will be gone. Do I smell drug companies at work again?
100 80mg pills of Lipitor cost my health plan $256.41.

My dad was actually buying meds for both my mom and dad. He was saving thousands of dollars doing this. Its 3 hrs away for him and the money e was saving for the exact same drugs was amazing. Remember when our dumb as dirt leader passed his drug program? all of his meds went up a bunch. So he went to Canada to by his.

Just make sure they are made in Canada and not illegally shipped through Canada or something.

Fortunately for me, a 90-day supply of Brand-Name Crestor costs me $27.00-US.

Being completely serious, what happens if you get caught? & who do you need to be afraid of catching you, the Canadians or the Americans? Is there a law on the books that says you can't buy prescription drugs internationally?

My father-in-law got caught ordering his meds out of Canada. They confiscated them in the mail. He got a stern warning that he would be prosrcuted if caught again and they kept all the confiscated meds. He had to go without them for a few months because he couldn't afford more and out the cash too.
I think he may be back at it again though.

I dont profess to know the laws around this, but to say that its against the law to possess more than your RX bottle says doesnt hold true, i dont think, because when you buy meds from canada, there does have to be a prescription so you are not over quota... our government is trying to cave in to the US lobbying by trying to close the loop on selling the meds across the border... its made a very lucrative few years for the internet savvy young pharmacists here, he drives a nice lambo and lives one of the more prestigious houses in the city (paid cash) and hes barely 30! ...attaboy!

its not really your gov't out the taxes too much, its just that they have a bad deal with the pharma companies, they protect their r&d for a long time so that they can make obscene amounts of money before allowing 'generics' to make the same pills... i think we allow generics after one year, so the price drops dramatically...

hope it works out for you!

A base Corvette up here is about $69K and about $47K south of the border. If we go down there the dealers aren't allowed to sell new cars to us. Lots of people have tried. Drugs or cars, only the big boys seem to win. Free trade certainly isn't designed for us, even if our lives were to depend on it.

Refilling a prescription in Canada is considered Fraudulent and if you get busted, so does your cool, Doctor friend.

It's not all about taxes, it's a safety issue as well.

You are led to believe that it is a safety issue. It's not about safety. It's about money.

I never indicated it was a safety issue merely because the meds were produced in Canada. I meant they would be unsafe if they were manufactured illegally without any guidelines. The same safety issue applies here in the USA.

John,

I have to respectfully disagree with you. Keith is correct, this is about money, NOTHING else.

I will quote Chris Rock, who so eloquently stated,

"The Gov't doesn't give a * about your safety. They don't wan't you to use YOUR drugs, they want you to use THEIR drugs!"

Now granted he was referring to illegal drugs as well, but the point is the same. The Gov't is in bed with the pharma industry, that's the bottom line.

No problem Pete, but I said that it's not all about taxes, it's a safety issue as well. And by that I meant, that both taxes/money and safety is the concern. Now, it's probably a 20%...80% thing, but I'm sure it's not 100% about the money. Besides, I own Stock in several of the major pharmaceutical companies, and as long as the I keep receiving the dividends, I'm happy.

I just picked up my 30 day supply of 10MG Crestor.......$50.26  and that was picked up by the company drug plan. Now let's factor in our tax freedom day.....July 13th in good ole Quebec, compare with yours and see who is farther ahead.

At least you only get gouged on pills....we get it on almost everything else.

"40mg x 90 pills for $155.00 plus $9.00 shipping. I can cut the pills in half" Cutting them in half gives you a 20mg dose which you probably don't want.

Do some reading on high doses of this type drug and you'll see what I mean.
