: quarter finals again
Bob West Oct 17th, 04, 1:09 AM 3 weeks ago I won my first race, and finally got back in the money again today...car was on, driver was so-so, got beat running 10.042 on a 10.04 with a .548 light...guy that beat me ran 9.279 on a 9.27 with a .527 light :( oh well, such is drag racing,,,,besides winning a little money, I did finish tied for tenth in points...so I get to get up on stage and get another jacket and plaque :D Quite an accomplishment running a street car amongst all the racecars,if you ask me ;)

70_FathomBlueMalibu Oct 17th, 04, 3:55 AM Way to go Robert! It's always more fun to walk softly and carry a big stick amongst the heavy hitters. graemlins/thumbsup.gif
HPseeker Oct 17th, 04, 8:19 AM graemlins/thumbsup.gif ,and back in the top tenth graemlins/beers.gif
DragRacer Oct 17th, 04, 8:43 AM Bob,
It looks like there is some pretty tight racing in your neck of the woods as well.
Congratulations on making the quarter finals and on the top ten finish! graemlins/beers.gif
Keep up the good work.

kjett Oct 17th, 04, 6:40 PM Good job, Bob. graemlins/thumbsup.gif Are you guys wrapping it up for the year?
Purs Oct 17th, 04, 6:45 PM congrats!
that is quite an accomplishment. bracketracing is down to a science anymore, and it is extremely difficult for a street car to compete.

Bob West Oct 18th, 04, 12:17 AM Thanks guys,,,We have one more race with a bbq and a slightly bigger purse to end it all for the season. I participated in the CDRA finals today at www.mokandragway.com (http://www.mokandragway.com) went out in the 4th round, but we had 3 guys from the home track finish 2-4 and a guy from Prescott,Ark took home the big money. I've raced the last 3 years full time and finished 17th,6th,10th,,,you're right, bracket racing is tough and keeps gettin tougher.
Harold Sutton Oct 18th, 04, 12:46 AM Hi Robert, Glad you got to where you needed to be. We ran in the big TRP Street Car Shootout. Fuel mixture problems prevented a great showing but the car is biting real well. I think my son wants to run the eight mile shootout next weekend at Mokan, Holloway's other race this year. Any of four or five cars could have won our class but the favorite, a Chevy Nova from R&J Speedshop took the top spot. John Heard from Kansas City ( aka 505 Nova) got a video of our big wheelie i think.
