i would look into your electrical junction box. located next to your battery at the headlight basel. you should have a jumper from the positive cable that runs to it.
hope this helps

have you tried to jump the solenoid to see if your getting power?

Check too that you are getting 12v to the solenoid from the ignition side. Disconnect the wiring bulkhead engine side of fire wall, clip a voltmeter to the tab that would run to the solenoid and see if you get 12v when the key is turned. You have to be methodical when checking electrical problems and work forward/backward until you find the problem. A poor ground is often the culprit.

It may be a long shot, but the same thing happened to my 64 SS. At first I thought it was the ignition switch...wrong!!! After studying a schematic (sp?) I finally tracked it down to a bad starter. Over 25 years in this hobby and I never had a bad starter act this way. When I turned the key the gauges pegged, interior light dimed and that was it! No clicking, no nothing. After 4 days I replaced the starter in desperation after an elderly neighbor recommended it. Learn something new everyday! Good luck with your Chevelle!
