Anyone running a GV Overdrive in thier car? I'm thinking about putting one in my "70 Chevelle this winter and thought I should ask for pros/cons. My car is a sb 450hp 400 turbo with 4.30 gears in the back. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Brian

I do in my '68....I love it...with the 400 unit 3.89 gears, I think I was cruising at 2200 rpm or so...I do not have an engine in my car now, and I only drove it for about 500 miles with the GV, so I think I remember pretty well the cruising rpms...

what brand and stall is your converter? High stall speeds and low cruise RPMs cause lots of heat.

TCI 3000-3400 stall. 4.30 gears in the back @ 3000 rpms should be about 56 mph in 3rd and about 70 mph in 3rd overdrive. Do you know if synthetic oil is better for heat??

Thanks,
