I was finally able to spend my tax refund (not the rebate, that's going towards vacation). Got a pair of these from SC&C. This will be the third time I've modified the front suspension on the wagon and I haven't even gotten it on the road yet.

Can't wait to install these but who knows when I'll have some time to myself to actually work on my own car. It's turning out to be one of those Summers where everyone wants a part of me and nothing is ever left for just me!

Then to get us both motivated, I'll race you to see who gets theirs installed first!

WHERE did you get that "horseshoe" looking thing for the coil spring seat?

My father-in-law had a pair of them on his Skylark; one broke when we did a disc-brake conversion so I left 'em out. Now the front ride height is way too low.

They came with the control arm kit.

Yeah, things looked great for about a year and then not so much. Refinishing that stuff is quite a ways down the to-do list however.

How about a race to see who road-tests them first? :D

That's the last thing on my list of things to do before heading to Chevelle-abration... one of the things I most want to do but have other priorities like getting the interior back together. :o I can drive to Tennessee on my old arms and springs... can't drive without seats or a steering column. :D

A touch over $600 which includes the bumpstops and shipping. They come with Howe ball joints and delrin bushings already installed. I'll be removing the ball joints so I can install my Howe tall ball joints instead. Wish I could have bought them WITHOUT ball joints, would have saved me over $150, at least given what these ball joints sell for by themselves.

It does now that he had his greasy smelly car parts all over it :)

I understand abouit the time deal. I've got a lot of out of town work lined up this summer, so not much going on here either.

Howe joints are all modular, so if they came with them all you'd have to do is replace the ballstud instead of pressing them out and replacing them. :)

And how do the modular ball joints come apart? If they are Moog, are they the Problem Solver ones and thus would they have stretched the hole out too much thus that my Howes won't fit in there snug.

I'm pretty sure Marcus told me they were Howe ball joints though, maybe I need to call him to clarify.

Good question about if they are "problem solvers"... I would assume they wouldn't put those in, but you may want to call Mark to verify.

On the Howe joints, the bottom of the housing screws out (grease zirk sits in a recessed hex) and the ballstuds can be dropped out the bottom. Those look like a pressed-together stock type balljoint. When I ordered my arms, they were using Moog balljoints. I tried to get them without balljoints too, but with no luck. I had brand new DANA/Spicer joints already bought that are slightly better quality than Moog, but not enough improvement to justify pressing out and scrapping the Moogs.

Well, I looked closer, they are not Howes by any stretch of the imagination. I'll press these out, whatever they are, and put them in my old stock arms which will help to sell those off.
