Hi,
can anyone tell me if a camaro tranny x-member would be the same as a chevelle's? My crossmember has been beat up by a previous owner and someone offered me a camaro x-memeber but do not know if it will fit. Any thoughts?
Next question, Is there a way of telling if the clutch packs in the posi rear need to be replaced by visual inspection with the rear cover plate removed? I don't want to do another rebuild unless I have to.

the camaro x member is the wrong one.

on the posi. taking the cover off will not help. but here is 1 test for you that is easier. jack up 1 rear tire. put a torq wrench on a lug bolt. it should take atleast 45 lbs to spin the tire loose from the other. tom
