I have some white corrosion, caused by my battery, around the battery tray area/headlight support/frame area.

I don't really have the time to sand it and paint it now.

I heard spraying a mixture of baking soda and water on it will neutralize it and slow down further corroding/rusting. Does anyone know if it is true?
Any other easy "sprays" or whatever to slow down the corrosion?

Baking soda and a little water will neutralize the acid along with a wire brush you can get rid of most if not all of surface rust. Some POR-15 paint will help stop it permanently.

My first Elco was overcharging the battery, so the acid was leaking out of the battery on to the frame.:(

I kept washing it w/ water, but the rust kept spreading for about 6 months. :D

Bought some baking soda, fixed it.:thumbsup::D

So how much water do I mix with the baking soda?

Just enough to get the baking soda muddy or a lot so that it becomes a liquidy solution?

Then I just leave the baking soda mix on there or do I wahs it off?

It doesn't have to be thick. Maybe the consistency of milk. Skim milk. Pour or brush it on and let it sit for a few minutes then wash it off.
