Does anybody make a step nose solid roller camshaft so I can use the cam retaining plate on a MKIV block? Lots of hyd rollers but can't find any solids. Thanks in advance, Tony A. graemlins/beers.gif

Probably not... I don't think anybody sells factory-style solid lifters either. Main reason is, the factory's stupid system allows the lifters to fall out of those stupid figure 8 things when the cam has too much lift, which is of course one of the major points of having a solid roller in the first place.

Just use a real roller cam, real roller lifters, and a cam button, like real motor builders have been doing all these decades.

Tony,
How hard did you look ? There is 3 listed in the Comp catalog, and 4 on thier web site. They would probably grind anything you want if they have the cores.

Guys, they are listed in Crower's " Garage Sale" section and Harold@Lunati can grind them as long as the cores are available. Specifically asked him for a buddy's GenVI 509.

Yep,
They are readuly available cores so any grind can be had from any major grinder.
I have one in my Mark IV 505 from Comp, although I would buy from a different vendor next time.

Gene, I called Crower 3 months ago about those garage sale cams. They're all gone. I guess they don't update their site. Personally, I think the MKVI method of holding the roller in place is alot better than a cam button pushing against the timing cover. Besides, they also have the lobe for a mech fuel pump. graemlins/waving.gif

There is a solid roller Step Nosed cam in Scott Blaauboer's '70 put in late last year. He got it from Comp Cams no problem.
