ok just wantin some ideas on what i might be able to go threw the 1/4 have it marked in front of my house and not even gettin on it (to keep from spinning) just outta first and then shifting at about 4300 rpms well ne ways im turning about 3300 or so in 3rd when I cross the line

it has a TH 350
and 27.5 inch tires
and 3.08s
and this is a stock 69 chevelle with a 327 with full interor......I think it runs pretty good for a motor that wasnt really beefd up it just has a little bit larger than stock cam, edelbrock intake and a 600 holley and headers thats mostly it all the rest is about stock

I used a rear axle calculator and it said at 3500 im runnin 92 or so mph

who runs about 90 or 95 threw the 1/4 and if so whats the ET? ;)

I'm guessing low 15s to mid 14s. But i dont know much, not much at all. LOL.

Both 350 cars i deal with are similarly equipped to your car, except they both have 355cubes instead of 327. The faster of the two ran a 9.6 sec ET in the 1/8, thats around 15.00ET in the 1/4. I'm not sure what rear gears he has but he does have a posi in it.

The slower (my car) ran a best of 10.17ET@69.5MPH in the 1/8th. Thats about 15.8@88MPH in the 1/4. Best MPH in the 1/8 was 70.25 which is about 89MPH in the 1/4. I run 2.73 gears, non posi, with a big 28inch tall tire. My car has pretty much the generic 204/214 cam, headers, and 4bbl.

So in short, i say Low 15s, Hi 14s at best.

Okie dokie.....you had said maybe a mid 14 maybe..... i can deal with that cause its a stock motor basicly.....latar on a diff intake, some roller rockers,cam,carb,2400 stall convertor, MSD dist and 6AL box.........MAYBE keyword there maybe i might get some rpm allum heads........ i might dig a low 13 maybe keyword maybe :D

Oh yeah, as far as i know 1/4 mile MPH is not calculated at how fast you're going when you cross the lines. But I think they use the avg MPH between the "traps".

Best way to find out is to do what i did, Take It To The Track. Even in my Slowpoke, drag racing is a blast. Meet nice people too.

It depends on how well the car works. A well set up car (drag race setup) could run 14.20 or so with a 92mph trap speed. Most street cars will run mid to high 14s with a 92mph trap. I had a mostly stock small block with good tires and a well matched converter run 14.90s @ 89 mph.

Well, your calculated speed at the stripe was ~ 87 mph - probably a mid to high 15 second pass. (rpm x diameter x 2.96) all divided by (gear x 1,000)

Start by improving traction: tires, posi if none currently in place, suspension - fresh bushings and reinforced lower control arms. When the traction equation has been improved then move on to things like a performance torque converter, shift kit, and more suspension upgrades like the SSM relocated lower control arms or your favorite brand of relocated upper control arms. You need traction and the ability to apply all your power off the starting line before you need more power - that does not mean you should neglect things like ignition advance curve and carb tune.

Mid-high 15's for sure
3.08's and tall tires, along with a mostly stock 327 isn't going to do much..might have good seat of the pants and run well, but its not going to net a 14 second run.To give you an idea,a friend of mine runs a stock 325HP 396 (and has a Holley 600) with 3.08's and a 26" tall tire..he runs 14.20's at about 94 MPH with a 2.20 60 ft.
He has an 11" 2500 convertor too..I'm assuming you're running a stock convertor?
This is in a 69 Chevelle SS396

I'm with the person who said mid-high 15s. The average hot rods of the sixties which had no posi-trac rear ends and stock gears ran about 15.2-15.5 at 92-93 MPH. A few would run high 14s if well driven. The posi-trac made a huge difference with good power. My non posi, 3.55 geared, four speed 442 ran a best of 14.54 @ 100.86 MPH in late 1966 just for reference and didn't lose many races on the street.
