I was looking through the Summit Catalog and found Hedman Full Tube Headers Part #68190 listed for 396/502 Chevelles. I didn't know there were smaller tubes available under 1 3/4" for BBC's.

Has anyone run these on a 396/402 BBC with iron oval ports and, if so, how did they perform? Seems like there would be a slight size differential between the exhaust port opening and the header tube face. If they work, though, then the usual clearance issue with the steering column shaft should be helped somewhat.....right?

The small tube headers would be a restriction if you are serious about racing.

Not sure how they'd perform, but I don't have any clearance problems with my new 1-3/4" Heddman's.

Wow, that's small. Maybe OK for a stock 325/350hp 396/402, but no more.
