: Dyno June 7th at my place!!!!!

Ok here is the deal
I talked to my buddy DJ and we can have the dyno for the 7th

We need to get 20 cars on the dyno to make it worth his while. The dyno is a Dyno jet 248 (it will not load like a Mustang Dyno so it is car friendly) He has a wide band 02 sensor (way more accurate than a 5 gas sniffer) the drawback is you need a bung for an 02 sensor on your exhaust somewhere. I have a lift and welder so we can drill holes and weld bungs on then just cap them when done and he has a ton of carb jets for tuning ect.....
Three runs each and it will cost $50.00 per car if we get 20 cars to dyno. I NEED to know if you plan on running and please if say you are going to run plan on doing so. I will be responsible for coming up with the money if you say you are running and dont. DJ is a great guy and he will be very helpful and this is a ACCURATE dyno with numbers you can trust!!!!!!!

If you want to run and use the 02 sensor try to get a bung on your exhaust before the 7th if possible so we do not have to spend all day drilling and welding :D

So post here if yuo want to dyno your car!!!
I am still working on a burnout box as well :hurray:

Could you please specify thread size and dimension of this said bung ? A picture would be really helpful. Also a best location on exhaust system would be great for noobs like me.

I have every intent of being there, after running at Bremerton the night before. Just keeping my fingers crossed to get done in time. I'll know for sure within about 10 days. So put me down for a definite maybe.
Thanks.

It would be a standard bung used in common O2 sensors. You could try Napa or go to an exhaust place and get one.
Now drilling and welding should be at or near the top side of the collector. I will dig up a picture of mine I had on the Duster.

A friend of mine that installed the FI 5.0 into his 66 'stang, used the anti foul spark plug adapter and installed it. This is from what he told me, but I dont know if he made any other mods to the adapter or anything else like that. Granted He just used a generic O2 Sensor for the correct thread comparison.

I'm in too. Maybe I can finally get some dyno numbers cuz the 2 places I have gone to have basically scratched their heads and then blamed it on the MSD system.
Just a heads up for all of you that do run MSD (almost all of us), make sure you have good solid grounds, run a RFI filter and lastly, solid core plug wires will also mess with the dyno.
These are what I have been told by the dyno guys.

Here is a pic of my O2 sensor on the Duster......

I think I would get laughed at if I put the scion on the dyno:noway:
I may be able to donate a couple of dyno sessions if you dont get enough people just to help ya out.

Thanks for the photo and info, Jim.

I'm trailering to the....are you ready guys...the glass shop and exhaust shop early next week. Should solve the wind in face issues and put a clamp on my pesky neighbor and her sound abeyance/ itchy 911 finger problem.

When at muffler shop, I'll get the bung installed.

So far I count 7 cars including mine and that is counting a couple maybe's
I will see what happens over the next couple days but if we do not get some more interest I may have to bag the whole dyno idea

Hoss, I should know in a day or two if the Buick will be dyno ready. As long as it's not my trans acting up and just my shifter I should be good to go.

Sorry to be a definite maybe but that's the best I can offer up at the moment.

Hoss, I will dyno the Camino for sure. I may be able to bring my friend with a 72 chevelle and have him dyno his as well. I will try to get my new exhaust system built by June 7th, bung and all installed. I plan on doing alot of tuning, would be willing to pay a double fee for all the time on the dyno if that helps any.

If you start now Brian you could make it.:D

I just got back from a 30 minute cruise in the car after unbinding the shift cable and tightening up a few drips. Car seems to be running strong although I haven't REALLY wound it up yet.:noway:

I should be good to go for the dyno Hoss.

I would like you to at least try:yes::D Do you have insurance ,license ect. Dont see a real reason why it cant make it unless your going to use that corny line from Fast and Furious and say you live your life 1/4 mile at a time:D

haha you would like me to try? I know the chevelle would make it their and back no problems. It is insured and licensed as per I do drive it on the streets to the track.

It just boils down to that I dont want to drive it that far.

I am sure it will work out but if I have to run both my diesels to get enough dyno runs in you guys will hate me for having more horsepower in my tow rig then you have in your cars :D

The Burnout box is being built this weekend :hurray:
I am pouring a 10ftx25ft concrete pad and it will be ready for the 7th
So we will be dynoing and BBQing and :beers:and shredding tires all day!!!!!!!
I am going to power screet the pad to a very smooth finish so tires will not get eaten up too bad. Now what do you say we come up with a prize or two for the best burnout and high horsepower????
