I did a search and all of the posts iv found state that 68-72 chevelles have a 5x4.75 lug pattern.My 69 el camino has a 5x4.5 spacing.And that is with factory original ss wheels.Whats up with that,are el caminos different than chevelles?

You are measuring wrong, if you measure from stud across to the stud on the other side it will measure 4.5  If you measure from the stud straight across the center between the opposite studs to the radius it will measure 4 3/4

If you measure from the center of one wheel stud to the outside edge of the most opposite wheel stud, it will measure 4-3/4"
