:)Just wanted to get some info on tips, do's and don't about removing my seat covers on my front bench and rear seats.

The plan is to remove the covers, evaluate what's there, paint the frames and send out to be recovered.

Questions:

1. Any special tools, etc.
2. do you paint the frames? If so what do you use?

Any other input is greatly appreciated.:)

get a bolt cutter, turn your seat u-side down, cut ALL the hog rings( these look like a big staple) once this is done, turn seat back over and pull cover off it should come off EASY no pulling, keep the batting, you can reuse it or go to a shop and buy more, about $20.00 for the front and rear, hog ring kit is about $20.00 from ausleys, or NPD. you can put the new ones on yourself, just take your time, YOU CAN DO THIS YOURSELF, TAKE YOUR TIME, is the key here, use a heat gun to get the wrinkles out. good luck

Go to www.buickperformance.com and scroll down for bucket seat covering, and of course the 5 star write up here. I'd try to take one apart at a time to do it so you can reference back to the 2nd one.
I used POR15 and brushed the frames, sprayed the tracks for a better finish with acrylic enamel.
