Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone has a set of these mounted and could measure the actual height for me. I just bought a set and M/T says they should have a 27.3 diameter. When I measured mine, I'm only getting a 25.3 diameter which is too short for my application.

This is the first time I've dealt with a bias ply front race tire so do they expand or something when mounted/inflated? I just don't want to get them mounted and find out they are too short and have to get another set. Any help here is appreciated!!

I am using the Sportsman Front tires, 28 X 7.50-15, which are 28 in diameter. After you mount and air them up, their diameter will be close to 27.3 but you will lose some of that diameter when installed on the car. How much will depend on front end weight and air pressure. Mine are 26 1/4 high installed on the car with 32psi. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. I actually called the M/T tech line and the person I talked to said that the tires would be 27" plus or minus once mounted and inflated on a 4" rim so hopefully that's the case. The front end weight and air pressure is a good point as I never thought of that. I checked out your site and your tire fills the front wheel opening pretty well, so hopefully all will be good.
