Posted this in Resto Forum, let's try here:

I'm replacing some of the wiring in my car. I've already purchased both underhood harnesses, replaced the intermediate body harness and will be purchasing a dash harness. When I disassembled the car I kept ( and plan on reusing ) the console harnesses. The car was converted from a column shift by a prior owner, so the wiring is is nice shape.

Do I need a new kickdown harness, or is that segment of wires included in another area ( like the dash or console harness )?

Thanks.

The kickdown harness goes from the switch over top the gas pedal to a switch on the transmission. It has ground and 12 volts.
You don't necesatily need it per say, but if you need to go down into passing gear, you will have to manually downshift it. If you leave it in 3rd and get on it, the clutches in the trans will slip due to lack of line pressure which will end up burning the clutches.
