I have what I believe are my original metal (stainless) wiper arms for my 70SS.
This strong little spring which keeps the arms firmly held against the window is rusty and ugly, anyone know where to find a replacement spring(s)? They measure about 2.75" long and 3/8" wide.....thanks for the help.

W.W. Grainger sells a 2-3/4" x 3/8" extension spring (part #1NAB9 - pkg of 3 for $3.41) but will it have the same tension specifications that your wiper arm requires? You don't know. Other industrial supply houses sell springs as well, but it will be the same story. Try a local hardware store like ACE and maybe you'll get lucky and find something close to what you need. If you are thinking of contacting Trico, forget it. I went that route with no luck.
I would venture to say that 99% of original wiper arm springs are somewhat rusty and ugly looking. The bottom line is, with the arm in place, no one will ever see the spring. If your arm is applying adequate pressure between the blade and the glass and your only reason for changing it is purely cosmentic, leave well enough alone. It's a stout spring and getting the old one off and new one on will definitey be a challenge. Especially the getting back on part.

When I did mine all I did was remove the rust from them and prime and paint.
Have fun putting them back on, one of the stoutest springs to remove and install for being such a small spring its a tough one.

mscdirect.com has over 100 stainless springs to choose from.
To find a good match you want to look at wire size, diameter and length.
