do you have any exhaust systems that will work with shortie headers?

I did a 2" drop on my '69 and the exhaust (at the connection between the headers and exhaust) rubs the ground a bit on bumps...

so I've been wanting to replace it (and my full length headers) anyway and get shorties, now I have a good reason and you have a good price!!!

any suggestions? I like the 2 1/2" X Pypes (SGA10) FWIW...but not sure how to make them work with shorties...

I dont know of a system that will work with shorty headers out of the box, but I do have mandrel bends that can be cut and modified. I recommend having an exhaust shop install the system and fab up a pair of shorty down pipes from the mandrel bends. Ill send you a pic of the mandrel bends that we use for that.

the bends are $23.69 each. I would recommend one 30 and one 45 degree. If you need collector adapters we have them too for $50.65 per pair.

I have two sets of collector adapters (one from my old headers, one from my shorties)...will I need more?

I have J bends that may be better for what your going to do. The J bend in the picture is $71.70 ea. Two J bends should be enough. Your collector adpaters should work fine.

I cannot picture how that might work for the shorties but I'll take your word for it...by the way is shipping really $66 to Kentucky for just the Pypes system??? I think all the savings will be lost in shipping...other suppliers offer it for $13 shipped

The bends need to be cut and welded as needed to make your own downpipes. As for shipping I just quote what it cost me, if the other guys are cheaper go with them. I cant ship any cheaper than what it cost me.

Most Pypes exhaust system dimentions are 62" x 17" x 13" and are about 70lbs. I dont see how $13 cover shipping.

I think there are a couple brands out there that are of decent quality.
The HVE10 that you had listed (Pypes) are actually Race Ready Perf brand (around $360 shipped).
There is DMH Performance at about $320 shipped
There is QTP at around $315 (don't know about the shipping) and I don't know how they stack up against the fiorst 2 brands.
What other brands do you know of?

Dougs makes them too. I dont know which brand I will stock yet.
