Well, I ended up going out third round at Super Chevy this weekend, but not without a few exciting moments.

1st) Todays second round elminations, the car ran a new 1/4mile best 10.30 @ 129.17mph, with a 1/8mile of 6.52. That was made at right around 96°F air temperature. The best the car has gone 1/8 mile is 6.43 so I know that I can pull a 10teen out of this thing.

2nd) Found out that my front windshield molding can not take 128mph, as when I got back to the pits I found it missing, drove the tow vehicle down to the end of the track, and they had it waiting for me. smile.gif

3rd) Won top 10 editor's choice award for Drag Racing graemlins/hurray.gif I am happy about that, and nwas hoping that I could win some money drag racing as well, but 1 out of 2 ain't bad smile.gif

Alright Mike. 10.30, I'm impressed. I ran slower than Irwindale in the 1/8, too. However, if you look down Irwindale's strip you can see it is downhill. I'm not surprised you won the award. That is a beautiful car you have. BTW, did you get the rear fixed where you got tagged last year.

You'll get your 10 teens, just like I'm sure to get my 10.99 when all the planets come into alignment :D

I do believe the actual track temps went into the low 100's today - definitely not good racing air!

Congrats on the good times.

Pat, no actually I didn't, because of all the contigency award ppossibilities, on Thursday I put on the contigency stickers, and convered up the area where I was hit.

Never looked at Irwindale like that before, I will have to check that out.

Mike, I saw your car run, that is one hot Chevelle!! Way to go on the new bests, can't wait to see you out there next year!
Oh, by the way, did you or anyone else at SCS see a red '71 in the pits on saturday? What really caught my eye was a rack and pinion setup the guy built. I wanted to talk to the owner, but he wasn't around, so his dad gave me his number, I'll probably call him later in the week.

Keep on tuning!!
