I'm tring to figure out if I have a vacuum leak or it's just normal for this cam. I have the car here at work but can't work on it during the day, so I don't get alot of time to work on it. The cam is installed straight up. I have 4 or 5" of steady vacuum @ 800 RPM. When I open up the throttle, the highest reading is 25". Anyone running this cam, can you tell me your vacuum at idle? Thanks in advance.

I pull 10" of vacuum at idle in a 350 with a solid roller cam (296/303 adv, 257/265 @.050, 104LSA) Although, thats a 1300 rpm idle
4-5 is definately low. Do you mean 25" at cruising speed? Your vacuum should drop when you first open the throttle or as you're accelerating, unless you're hooking up to a vacuum port above the trottle plates intstead of below like you should be, this would show low vacuum at idle and high vacuum when you open the throttle.

True, I'm hooked to the manifold vacuum for my brake booster. I had a brain fart. I just looked at the guage and it was 15" not 25" I don't know the RPM for the 15" reading I got. I was guessing around 2,000 - 2,500 RPM. The tach's not hooked up.

I just bought and broke this cam in last sunday morning. I currently have 5 days of driving time on it. I'll stick a vacuum gauge in my car and go driving around and tell ya what it says! Im pretty sure it's making way more then 4-5" of vaccum, I do have a loose converter, is yours stock and lugging the motor down at idle?

Ok I get 7-8" steady in gear and make 18" driving down the road at about 2,800rpm's. Hope that helps!
