Can anyone reccomend a quality shop in the milwaukee or janesville area (or perhaps northern IL). Looking for a nice street set up.Trying to get as much out of her without sacrificing street manners! THANKS

Goodwin Competition in Ormo build awesome engines. Also Competition Products in Oshkosh is helpful and Butch Patterson is their engine builder. He's done a few sets of heads for me and I've had good luck with them.

I heard some good things about Westech Automotive in Silver Lake WI. A friend of mine had a big block engine rebuilt there and he has been real happy with it.

autoegineer- was it a street set up ? How long ago was it done? Are from this area?

He had it done a couple years ago. It was a street engine for a 78 or 79 TRans Am. Its a 400cui that he told me puts down about 400hp at the rear wheels. Its still running good for him. I live in Northern IL only maybe 20 min from Silver Lake. I'm looking to go to Westech myself and get a quote on a rebuilt BB for my Chevelle, but probably no time real soon.
