Any good tips on controlling wheel hop. I saw some add on links that relocated the upper bars on the rear end about 3 in. ???

Try and replace the rear end bushings. Also, the upper control arms might help. We had the same problem with our 71. Replaced the bushings and uppers, not the 71 just squats and goes, if I can get any traction of course.

Box the lowers, add new bushings, its not supposed to squat and go,it should separate and go,,,when its squatting its taking the weight of the car off the tire, separation its pushing the tire to the ground.

The easiest "fix" is no-hop bars or SSM Lift Bars (Jegs sells them under the Jegster brand, Metco has them, too). These relocate the mounting points of the upper or lower control arms. The lift bars replace the lower arms. The no-hops use your existing upper arms. New bushings should be installed. Those 39 year old bushings have seen better days.

If you are running an automatic and stock ride height, then poly graphite bushings will cure the wheel hop. Any raising of the rearend changes the geometry and aggravates the situation. The lower the better. With a 4 speed you will probably need SSM bars as well.

Pretty much what Keith said. Getting the lower arm parallel to the ground is suppose to work well. I've never been able to get my car that low.
