Being a cyclist, I am pretty sensitive about cables because they dramatically affect bike shifting. And then I look at the 40 year old throttle cable in my car, and it looks pretty ratty. I clipped the pedal end lug off, and pulled the cable through the casing. It was remarkably worn! some broken strands mid-length, dry as a bone, etc. I greased it and stuffed it temporarily back in, but it needs a changin'. What have any of you done for this?
My car isn't a numbers cars, so I don't care if it doesn't end up original looking. Heck, pop the hood and see all the Alumitech, March, MSD, Hooker, BG, Edelbrock, etc. Here are a couple of items I am considering:

http://www.jegs.com/i/Lokar/625/TC-1000HT/10002/-1
What do we think of something like this? Anyone done it? The cable has to make a pretty big smoothness difference, the casing is lined with a low friction liner, just like I am used to with high end bike cables.
