What is the minimum amount of clearance I should have between the caliper and the wheel? I recently installed disks (GM, from a '74 Nova) and will soon be shopping for wheels.

Thanks.

I don't know if there is a minimum clearance. If they clear they clear.

Since the calipers are the floating type that move, I would shoot for 1/4" clearance with new pads in the caliper.

If they don't rub, that's good enough. :)

True, I was allowing for any flex/movement in the parts or play in the bearings. Just in case, since we tend not to drive like grandma did (at least most grandmas).

I was told 3/16 as a min.
