Does anyone know the exact exhaust pipe size on a 70 Chevelle SS 396 >?

Pretty sure it's 2.5"

Not a Chevy expert, but the Ols 442 that year is 2 1/4, and 2, I think Chevy is the same, almost sure not 2 1/2?

Now I am more confused

I'm not 100%, but I'm pretty sure it's 2.25"

I have a 72 SS w/ 402. I have a Gardner Exhaust which is supposed to be the same as OEM. Pipe is 2 1/2" O.D. manifold to muffler, then 2" O.D. from muffler to resonator.
