Hi guys! I've been a 'lurker' in this forum for a while. Going to be in your neck of the woods from 6/27 to 7/10, taking my family out to see my parents in Sequim and brother in Port Orchard. Have some questions for ya:

Looking for some family ideas: Kids aged 11 & 13, was thinking Boeing aerospace museum, Seattle fish market, trip to the rainforest, maybe down to Mt St. Helens. Was interested in a whale watching trip until I saw how expensive it is  We've already been out there once and gone to Hurricane Ridge and Mt. Raineer. Any other family safe suggestions? Both kids are musicians, any neat 'underground music stuff' age appropriate?

Hope to be able to slip over to Bremerton one night with my brother if we can get away from the rest of 'em.

Thanks all!

Boeing Museum of Flight is awesome & huge- The tour of boeings everett plant is also very cool...

As was said, EMP, a must do...

St helens is cool, but a long drive out of seattle, make it an overnight stay and camp out at one of the state campgrounds near by (sequest state park has good camp sites!)

I'm sure we can come up with some more stuff...

Sounds good to me, I don't have any races going on that couple of weeks. We can break in the new patio furniture the wife just bought:thumbsup:

We are having a house warming/family and friends get together on May 17th, you are all welcome!

Sid, where is Elkton at in relation to Cambridge MD?
I raced hydroplpanes in Cambridge and Kent Island three years ago, stayed in Havre de Grace with some friends for a couple weeks before heading to VA. I have not had the chance to get back but have been thinking about it since I left.

I think it's obvious that the EMP and Museum of Flight are must do's on you list.

The Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle is one of the top 10 in the country if the kids are still into that type of thing.

The Cascade Loop has some awesome scenery. Takes you from sea level to over 5400 ft of elevation, drops you through the Ponderosa pines and into sage brush country, back over a 4100ft pass and back to Sea level. It'll take a whole day if you decide to make the trip.

There won't be any snow near the roads by the time you come but the North Cascades Highway has to be one of the most scenic in Washington.

6/28 is one of the bigger car shows of the summer on Greenwood Ave in Seattle.http://www.greenwood-phinney.com/events/greenwood-classic-car-and-rod-show

4th of July there are tons of options.

That's all I can think of at the moment.:D

If staying down south....south of Olympia on I-5 is the new Great Wolf Lodge water park.

The kids are probably too old for this.

However, just a block away is BISCAY's Classic Chevy Parts

We're only about 10 minutes east of Havre de Grace, about an hour or so north of Cambridge, same side of the bay.

Thanks guys! I like the Cascades loop idea, and also the EMP! Don't know yet if I'm going to have any 'away from the family' time as the folks are getting older, and I don't know my brother & sister's schedule, but I do hope to sneak out to the dragstrip or car show someday. Know my brother lives near the strip, he used to race a sports cars.

Keep 'em coming!

Sports car, He was probably near PIR, in Auburn. If He's out in Port orchard, You're really close to "Our" home track.

We'll have to see If there is a TNT around then.

Yeah, he (Chuck Donaldson is his name) ran at PIR, but he's definitely in Port Orchard, about 2 miles off 16. Take Sedgwick to Glenwood, he's out that way. Remember seeing the Bremerton track when we went for a ride. Betting I could drag him out to the strip!

He lives about 5 miles from my house and about 8 miles from the track:thumbsup:

I don't know him, just the area. I pass Glenwood on Sedgwick almost every morning, sometimes I take Mulenix rd. Most of the circle track stuff I did was at Monroe.
