Hey guys, I am seriously considering stabbing a larger roller cam into my late model OEM hyd roller 350. Does anyone know what the max lift cam I can stuff into this thing using the OEM style roller lifters?

The end result will be a built 383 stroker, aftermarket 200cc heads, 10.50+:1 CR, 3000 stall, built TH350, etc, etc.

The engine is being build to replace the mild 383 stroker that's already in my Datsun 280z.

Thanks guys!!

Do you have some examples of some cams you might be thinking of stabbing and stuffing? Comp lists cams with .600 lift for these engines, but you'll need the complete kit.

I am not sure what you mean by 'complete' kit.

I already have the correct length (hardened) pushrods, roller springs/retainers, and the OEM roller lifters w/hardware.

I'll see what I can come up with as far as a certain cam.

Something like that....

I kinda like the LT4 Hot Cam too, but worry it won't give me the HP/TQ numbers I want.

You don't need a lot of cam to make serious horsepower. Joe Sherman's 600 hp 360" SBC that won the first Enginemasters used a HR cam about 234/234 @ .05".
The whole kit refers to the proper valvetrain parts that accompany the increased lift and duration. The cam manufacturer will specify a spring rate, seat pressure, etc.
