Today comming back from a service call a waneby
Hot rod King was using a grinder on a engine mounth to give clearance to the headers.

Using all of his 12 point of HQ he remouve the kleen rag that i hade install over the head untill we install the valve cove.

He did not whant them burn,( &*^((%%^$%&^$%)
wow i hade to leave the shop and wake for 15mim to let my blood cool down.

I return to simply request that he leave and
have the rest of the day off.

I use a magnet and remouve all that i was able to see. but i am sure there is some i miss

they are so small.. now my Nightmare i gest i will have to pull the block out dismantell and kleen all parts and re assemble.

if only 2 or 3 grain of metal particle go in to the oil supply it will rip my bering appart..

as soon it enter the pump will it not go to the filter first ? i gest not ?

any help for this I was inform to run 2 galon of diezel just flush the pan kleen and remouve any grain or metal particle and wash the diezel away
w fresh new oil..

help

thank you

Bummmer.

The oil will not go through the filter on a cold start, and it will score the pump anyways.

You could flush most of it away, but there will be some in and around the valve springs, cups, retainers, etc.... which will be very difficult to dislodge without dismanteling and washing each piece individually.

Not only is it going to be metal, it's going to be grit from the grinding disk which you cannot pick up with a magnet.

Without disturbing anything more, I would at least pull the one head off, dismantle all of the springs, and thouroughly flush all parts in the parts washer.

Make sure your apprentice watches all of this.

You had the valve cover off, was the cam galley exposed too, intake off??

BTW, great self control Sir. I would have taken the grinder and ground part of his arse off.

remouve the stock oil filter holder and install a
non by pass unit install a K&N oil filter and run 10/30 for 10 minute and discarde the filter
and oil .

how will this affect my Block or my cam i have a new cam ( solide & lifter ) 10 minute is to short of a brake in time...

Take it apart and make Grinder-Boy pay for a new set of gaskets.

sorry to hear what happened that grinding disk gets everywhere and its tough to clean cause it finds every little crack and nook......i would at least remove the head and tear it down and reclean it......as far as the valley area goes depending which way the sparks was being shot........i would just take carb cleaner or somethig and spray down the valley very good and let all run down to the pan then pour a few quarts of oil in the valley everywhere then drain the pan and run a few more quarts of oil down the valley to help wash out the carb cleaner and what not and put the motor back together.......but thats me.........a complete tear down i dont think is needed......some of us have done worse but not said nothing to nobody......lol

accontrol, don't worry about it, you're doing just fine, we don't care about spelling and grammer as long as we can figure out what you mean.
