: Grant Steering wheels (signature series) 1434
feedphillipnow Dec 20th, 03, 5:39 AM I've been wheel shopping for a while now and today is the day to buy! I've really grown to the grant signature series #1434 if anyone knows it. It has the little silver plastic sleeve inserts on the sides. I love this wheel, it would match my new dash perfectly! But it's $130 + tax and the kit. Which isnt cool. I dig everything about it except the signature part, it's a gip. I think I may go with another Grant wheel just as nice but a hair different and save a grip of cash. Any alternatives or comments would be great on these Grants, especially the sig. series/ 1434! graemlins/thumbsup.gif
IMO the 1434 would look out of place in a chevelle but that is only my opinion.

Here might be an alternative from Ebay and it has a buy-it-now of $30.

Lots of Grant wheels available on Ebay for cheap too.
feedphillipnow Dec 20th, 03, 6:52 AM Not a bad looking GM WHEEL. Im glad you posted a pic of the 1434 on here. It would just match what Ive done. Heres some photos, its before I finished my interior and my dash but its a basic idea and whatnot.

I was just in Autozone and they had one on the shelf. Looks better in person. The silver section is a rubberized plastic and feels pretty good. Funny its cheaper at Autozone than at Summit even before Summit adds their handling charge smile.gif .
RacnJsn95 Dec 20th, 03, 5:54 PM Personaly I like the 405 from Grant.

They also have a 404 with black spokes. I'm going to get one later on down the road, when all the important stuff is done, or when I have some spare cash laying around. It's 92.25, better than $130, but still up there. I wouldn't put that 1434 in ANYTHING, it's ugly IMO.
MeanKen Dec 20th, 03, 7:04 PM Check out the Sparco web site. graemlins/thumbsup.gif I just got one from them and think they are top grade. The stitching and leather are flawless, and 2 horn buttons look pretty cool too.
They also have some great looking seats.
Pat Kelley Dec 20th, 03, 7:05 PM Maybe is just my driving style but I find I get my fingers tangled up in a 4 spoke wheel (I have one in my 67). I prefer a 3 spoke design (I have one in my 66).
feedphillipnow Dec 20th, 03, 7:33 PM Hey guys smile.gif want to post a picture of #1066 grant. Thats what I went with today. The new buckets I put in are black with a red logo and my new dash is aluminum. This 1066 wheel is nice, its black and the top is a dark silver and grant is in red. I think it will match perfect! Im glad I didnt get the 1434, I dont know what I was thinking I'll leave it for the rice rockets

... to each his own I guess.
cody Dec 20th, 03, 11:16 PM The all black wheel that was just posted is in my 71 firebird and looks/feels great; "Personaly I like the 405 from Grant." graemlins/sad.gif YUK! that is one hooptie wheel!
RacnJsn95 Dec 20th, 03, 11:41 PM Like I said...
... to each his own I guess I might put your wheel on a boat... That's about it.
npminard Dec 21st, 03, 12:54 AM I think the optional RPO NK4 wheel on 71-2 Chevelles and many other 70s Chevrolet cars is very cool. Original, but has some sport to it. Just me though.

feedphillipnow Dec 21st, 03, 2:17 AM Wait smile.gif which one did you think was hooptie? I'll take some pictures tomorrow of it. It looks good with my seats and dash. Judge it after you see it graemlins/thumbsup.gif I never dug the install kits much, the main part its like a little silver gear that snags on around the steering column tip/thread. It never seems like it would be secure enough! I've done 4 of these total now and never had a problem. I guess I am just over cautious!
