What made you decide to go with a Clay Smith cam? Did they help you pick it out? Complete specs? How was their customer service?

Turbo you we real close on torque.

Mark, the machinist I use suggested one I suppose cause he's a dealer for em & he had it on hand, but he also had a UD to but at the time it sounded too big for my app. Now after studying more I kinda wish I'd gone that way.

Clay Smith specs
292 @ .013 their adv.
278 @ .020 my check
240 @ .050
108 LAC set in @ 103 ICL
.485 lift

Tony you should stop by there on one of your ice fishing trips. I didn't see any wild rice though.

The pull in red was after minor tuning, note timing @ 29 total, was @ 33 & it was @ 314 peak.
The 343 reading is with the conv. locked which surprise both of us, but I did a backup to within a 1/2 hp.

I never uncorked it. I have a fuel prob. note the A/F ratio I tied a diff. set of sec. rods it should have been way richer, but it did'nt make any diff. When we put a fuel press. guage on we noted the fuel press. was dropping to 2lbs. within a matter of seconds. I'm sure if I could get more fuel it would pull a little better on top.
If any body has tip feel free to offer as I'm a rookie

BTW I did 17 pulls put 241 miles on including the pulls, used only about 15 gal. gas. He charged me $150 for the 4 + hrs. & I got fed supper. I thought I got a super deal graemlins/beers.gif

Why do my pics end up so big when I open them from my sight they're normal size?

not too shabbby. My only thoughts besides the fuel pressure being too low is that 29 deg total timing seems a bit low, most guys run 34-36 deg. total. I'm suprised that it made more power at 29 deg. Was there a knock sensor hooked up? maybe it lost power because it was detonating with more timing? Maybe once you get the a/f ratio fattened up a bit it will make even better power with a few more deg timimg????
Wish that shop was closer to me, sounds like a heck of a deal!

So can anyone assist me on this combo to tweak a little more from it?
The timing, assuming the damper is right made more @ 29 deg. than 33. Bad gas? 91 oct. The DRC only works out to a little over 7.5 whan I figure the adv. dur.
