Since my monte died the trade for the 71 monte is pretty much not gonna happen. But I've still got the 67 elky...

I've already got fiberglass inner & outer fenders for it... I scrapped the hood a few years ago because it was shot. Well, that clears the way for a 'glass cowl hood. I've also got this 454 block just begging to get turned into a 496....

It's already got a 12 bolt in it, some 3.xx gears, and what I've been told its also a posi. (bought from my crazy uncles who said it was - its got air shocks and factory trailering stuff)

Sound like a plan? Full out strip built elky sounds pretty fun... I think I'm going to bring it home next weekend.

Your Monte died before you could trade it? That sucks! I thought that was a done deal.

So let's get this straight... you've got an Elky, a Chevelle, a convertable GTO, and a dead Monte... I don't think I could keep up with that many projects... but I'd like to try.:D

My monte isn't really a project other than getting rid of it! I threw it on CL tonight for $2500 obo to see if any takers arise.

The weird thing was, after its little episode where it wouldn't move in any gear, when I showed up 4 days later with the tow dolly it drove right onto that sucker like nothing had ever happened, and then I backed it off and into my garage.

The chevelle is somebody else's project right now!!

Do you have a number for the 71 monte and willing to share it,,,my brother is looking for a 71. He doesn't want a 70 or 72 (I didn't know there was a difference), just a 71.

FWIW I sold my monte for a whopping $1500 bucks. Wifey dearest said I had to put most of that into savings, but I told her I was keeping $500 of it. Today I went and looked at a 68 Firebird that was kinda rough but it was only $700. But, I think I'm gonna pass and get the GTOs block prepped and heads redone. Or, buy the rest of the sheetmetal I need. Decisions, decisions.

I am just about finished with the floor, just got the old section cut out today and almost ready to put the new one in. Then I need to buy my quarter & outer wheelhouse and it will start falling together (or apart) pretty quickly.
