I have been unhappy with the way my exhaust sounds - dual 2-1/2" system with crossover and Flowmaster 50 Series 42551's terminating with 8-1/2" (long) exhaust tips with rolled edges.
It has a kind of "rapping" sound, like low-riders with very small diameter exhausts (although not as extreme as that). One of my professional mechanic friends suggested that the rolled-edge lips on the tips is the cause. He says that the rolled-edge tips cause a restriction, and thus this rapping sound.
Does anyone have experience with this?
Thanks for your help!
