I have narrowed my cam choice down to one of these cams, and I was hoping to get some opinions on what would work best. The car is a 95% drag car, with maybe an occasional blast to the local burger joint. Car and motor specs are:

71 chevelle with full cage and fiberglass hood and bumpers

454 bored 60 over
781 heads with the bigger valves installed
10.5 to 1 forged pistons
electric water pump, fuel pump, and fans
single plane intake
full MSD ignition

Turbo 400 with full manual shift conversion
Converter will depend on the chosen cam.

12 bolt rear with 4.11's

Which cam do youguys think would ET better?

The Dude,

My choice, 95% strip car?
Why, the 402A7LUN, of course.
Put it in the engine on a 104° ATDC ICL, give or take 1°. What sort of electric fuel pump do you have? One Holley 110 or 1Mallory 140 will not feed the cam on top-end, and ALL your fuel lines need to 1/2" #8, gas tank to carb.
With a 3500 SS converter, you should run mid-11s or quicker. It will run 10s in the right car.

Thanks for all the good advice Harold graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I also just wanted to say how awesome it was dealing with Lunati. I called them up and ordered the cam (402A7LUN) late Monday afternoon. They guy who took my order was really helpful, and said he had one on the shelf, and he would do his best to get it right out to me. Well, I go home for lunch today (Wednesday) and there it was just waiting on the doorstep. :D It was kinda nice dealing with a company that really seemed to care about getting the right part out to the customer in a hurry.

That's the cam I'm ordering, as well, DUDE. You're setup in similar to mine. We'll have to compare notes when we're up and running!
