I purchased a set of cables. They even came in a GM wrapper. Problem is they have "fingers" on both ends like should only be on the rear where it plugs into the backing plate. Does any vendor sell the correct ones that require the little clip? Thanks in advance. Ron

69 Chevelle SS.........Sorry
Where it plugs into the frame it has the fingers also. It should have the clip to hold it in the frame. The vendor checked his other cables and they are all the same.

I got my rear cables (71 Chevelle) from Inline-tube. They went in just like the old ones, there was never a clip at the frame. And there is no way these cables will move out of the frame.

Mine had a clip at the frame. The little clothes pin looking clips. Did yours have the fingers at both ends. Every one I have worked on all had the retainer clips. Right above the front of the lower rear control arm. Don't know how to post pictures very well.

Cables are available from www.oldmusclecars.com for 68-69 part no. 2239GM. They should have the clip as shown above at the frame connection. I was able to get mine from a Chevy dealer for my 70.

Ron, yours must be some new design, most likely will work as intended.

They will work, but not "correct". Just trying to be as correct as possible.
