I am having my 454 bored 30 over not by choice the cylinder walls require it, What CID will this give me? would this change my cam selection, I am not planning on doing anything radical, I want to run stock exhaust and the heads are getting your basic valve job(oval port), I want that lopping idle sound)....
does anyone have advise on the cam I should use ?
Thanks

a .030 over 454 gives you approximately 460 cubes.

I use 454 + .060 is 468...so half that 461??? rounded down to Jims 460 smile.gif but then they'll ask you what you're doing with a Ferd motor in a chevy

A great daily driver BB cam is the good old CC 268HE or one about like it!!
Should pull like a locomotive AND still have just the hint of a lope to it!!
Want more lope, then try the CC 270 magnum.....
But if you are still low compressioned, no bigger b/c the 280 Magnum really needs up close to 10 to 1 CR., and preferably above to run it's best, imho...

454+.030=461
454+.060=468
454+.060+1/4in stroke(4.25)=496----This one right here is probably the most bang for the buck if you already have a good 454 for rebuild!

bore x bore x stroke x .7854 x number of cylinders = cubic inches
