My Car Sounds like your average 350 chevelle with flowmasters. it's got that choppy sound. it's loud, and I like it. But it's a hollow sound.

But all the time I see these muscle cars that have 350 emblems on em and the exhaust sounds mean. The only way I can describe it is that it sounds deeper, throatier. And it sounds like a truck. And it's solid. Where my exhaust is all lopedy lopedy lopedy lopedy it's grrrr grrrrrrrgrrrrrrgrrrrrrrrrgrrrrrrrrrr. And when they lay on the gas you hear it from blocks away.

is that all in the muffler, or are they in a big block with a 350 emblem?

i wonder if that makes any sense to you.

Tailpipes change the exhaust note alot. Are "they" or "you" running tailpipes?

They end right below the rear wheels.

I don't think that an extra foot of pipe would account for the difference in bass and tone and even the way it rolls.

The size of the exhaust pipes have a lot to do with the tone also....

Didn't you say Flowmasters? That's your biggest problem. They ALL sound tinny to me. Try a Magnaflow or Dynaflow muffler, they have a much throatier sound.

Cam duration, compression, engine tune, if you are looking for a real pissed off at the world exhaust note, any big block with old school L88/ZL1 shaft will give you that don't mess with me exhaust note we all love so much.:thumbsup:

This worked really well for me. I put a 496 in mine and left the 350 badge on it. :D

Compression will make it sound great.

My sons 540 with 3'' pipes sounded hollow also, its more in likely the 3''.
