Has anyone here run a 10" wide 16" wheel? Im looking into some sort of 5 spoke rim (like a TT) in maybe a 16". I know BFG make the TA in this size, and I like a tire/wheel to "fill up" the fender well a little more than a 15" rim with a 26" tire. Plus this would give room for bigger brakes and such if I want to go in that direction.

Does anyone think this will fit? The widest Ive seen a 16" in the DB is 8". Id assume a 5.5" BS should make it fit like a 15x10 with 5.5bs. I'm willing to do a little bit of modification to the lip if I have to. 17" wheels just don't quite do it for me, the tire seems too lo-profile, but this may be a direction I end up going (17x9.5 w/ 275-40) as the idea of improved handling is very tempting.

i run 255/50 all the way around on a 70 monte carlo. the front wheels a 16x7 with 4" backspacing and the rear is 16x8 with 4.5" backspacing

how much room do you have in the back around those 16x8's

What kind of car ? I have a 20x10 with a 275-35 on my 70 with only minor trimming on the lip.

monte7ocar how much clearance around those tires do you have? I'm assuming the wheel wells probably are the same as a 69 chevelle.

my wheel lips were trimed when i had a set of 295/50 under it. with the wheel well chrome i can bearly get my hand between the tire and the chrome. i have not noticed any tire rub any where front or back.

A 295/50-16 is over 28 inches tall. You are going to have about 5.5" of sidewall on that tire. I can understand not liking the look of low profile tires but that seems a little too much. I run a 295/45-18 on my GTO and it fits well. It is just over 28 inches tall with about 4.5" of sidewall. Falken just released a 295/40-18 in their 615 tires that is about 27 inches tall.
