Check the back of your carb to see if there is a plug. A couple of fittings and your good to go.

If you're opposed to drilling the intake then you might consider using a spacer that has been tapped for a vacuum fitting. I have a 1" open plastic spacer that's been tapped for an NPT fitting. If you like I could send it to you to try, all you need to do is cover the shipping. On the Dart single plane intake that I recently installed on my car I just went ahead and tapped the manifold for a vacuum fitting for my brakes.

If it's a 68, you might not have space for a spacer unless you have a non-GM hood. I say tap a hole in the plenum. There are those electric pumps that can be used too, but I think they are incredibly noisy.

If you are running a Vic Jr your car will almost always be faster with a 1" open spacer. Just drill and tap a port in your spacer for the power brakes. That's what I did.

If you don't have room for a spacer than you might be faster with a different manifold that has the fitting you need . . .

Ok, I wasnt sure if you were supposed to tap the intake.. Im not against it. Where do you tap it at though? On the top of the runner?

Oh and eric, I just bought a 4" harwood hood, so I have room graemlins/thumbsup.gif

The reason I tapped a spacer rather than the Vic Jr. I had on my car earlier this year is that I was testing the intake and didn't want to make permanent modifications to it in case it didn't perform. I ended up selling the Vic Jr. later to another TC member. Almost any single plane intake will respond to spacers. In my somewhat limited experience the more spacers the better! I installed a 2" Glasstek cowl hood on my car earlier this year. If I would have known then what I know now I would have a 4" cowl hood on there :(

As for tapping the manifold do as was suggested and tap the plenum. Usually in the rear of the plenum as close to the top as you can get without interferring with the carb (maybe .5" below the carb base to the top of the fitting). I would avoid tapping the runner as the physical obstruction of the fitting in the runner might disturb airflow/mixture to that cylinder. Others may disagree. Make sure wherever you tap it that there is enough meat to get at least 5-6 threads.

I have the same deal on a 69 Chevelle & I
bought & electric pump from the bone yard
off a Caddy, hid it in the inner fender behind
driver side head lights & ran a hose to the
booster it works great.

I have a Vic jr. on my small block and it has a vacuum port on the back side about 1" from the carb base. I think its about 1/4". I had to pick up an adapter to hook up the power brakes but it helped by moving the T away from the manifold.
