Excellent times. Looks like you have the car very well sorted out. Are they going to let you run again without a roll bar?

Jul 29th, 04, 2:10 AM
Yes, most excellent! Nice car, nice job.
Better get that roll bar!

I knew that motor had 10's in it - nice to finally have the bugs worked out, huh?!

6 point cage went in this winter. ;)
Car weighs about 3600 lbs with me in it.
Adam, Spun the tires pretty hard at the line, still messin with tire pressure there. 15 lbs on that run, more seems better.

Is that all??? ;)
There's a 10.5 in that car, no doubt. Glad to see you got the ignition gremlins worked out, Mike.
Very  !
Now tell us the truth...the car actually went quicker with someone else driving, right? :D

It went 10.79 with Himes, the engine builder driving. (He does a better burnout than I do smile.gif )

This is the same motor I ran last year, except, the AFR 190's had some more port work done to them, the Victor Jr intake had some porting done to it, I'm running a 1050 Dominator carb with a total of 5 1/2" spaced from the intake, and I put a flatop piston in to get 11:1 compression.
TH 400 tranny from Coan Engineering with a 4800 stall converter, Tighter than the one I ran last year. Moser 9" rear w/4.56 gears, 35 spline axles w/spool. 4 wheel disc brakes. Hodgkis rear suspension with adjustable uppers. Airbags with 5 lbs of air in each side.
The car has never been over 160 degrees with the Be Cool Rad and dual fans. No thermistat.
It's just a L'il ole small block :D

Thanks John, Tell sheet's thanks too.
There's more in this thing. My slicks are 2 1/2 years old and tired. Gonna get some new ones. Gonna fiddle with a coupla things and go down to Ga. and make a few runs in the fall with Kjett and BillsCamino. Thats the plan for now anyway.
That track looks like it hooks pretty good. It's tuff getting it to hook on a 10" tire, but that's part of the fun... when it does hang on.

You got that little motor moving down the track.

Out of curiosity what are you running for headers and exhaust?

Hedman 1 3/4" tube to a 3" collector and 3" exhaust thru Dynomax Ultraflow mufflers.

Cams a custom grind comp roller designed for this motor. by Dave Himes.

First of all congrats on the pass. Very impressive!!!

Now I have a question. What rims with what backspace did you run the 10" slicks on.
I'm researching how much tire I can get under my 64 wagon and all information would be very helpful.

There are three 1/4 mile tracks within 2.5 hours of Atlanta. I may have to call in the reserves (a.k.a. FatRat70) with the times you're posting in the heat  I ran last Saturday and the best I could muster in the heat of the day (3:55PM/3,604' DA) was:

60' - 1.544
330' - 4.478
660' - 6.943
MPH - 99.59
1,000' - 9.081
1/4 - 10.894
MPH - 124.09

It did run a wee bit faster when the sun started going down ;)
