Does any one know what gear came in the 65 camino with a 283, PG, and 10 bolt? I know I can pull the cover and check it but was just wandering if there was a certain ratio that was standard.

Jack up one wheel, turn the wheel until the valve stem is at the bottom, make a chalk mark on the driveline, have a helper rotate the wheel one turn while you count the drive line turns. Divide by two = ratio

most likely a 308 ratio, there will be a code on the pass. side axle tube. get that code, most likely a CA code

3.08 and 3.31 were the most common.

mine came with the 3:31 12 bolt- 300 hp, PG, PS, PB, AC. All 327's had a 12 bolt, not sure about the 283's, but likely a 10 bolt as std.

mine is a 327 with camel hump heads and came with PG and 2.73 gears. back in the mid 80's while in high school I replaced the PG with a T350 and swapped the 12 bolt single leg with a 10 bolt out of a 70 buick GS with a 3:42 limited slip.

stock is had 2.73 and I remember it was a fun car as long as I was doing 30 MPH. From a stop light.... yikes it was slow out of the hole.
