Am going to be installing a set of prothane body mount bushings on my 66 malibu. Do I need to coat these with lube to avoid squeak or do they go in dry? Thanks in adavance for your thoughts.:beers:

I put mine in dry.

I saw no logical reason to grease the body bushings since they are compressed when the bolts are tightened. Besides if you add grease to them you run the risk of your body sliding around! :eek:

Save the grease for the suspension bushings.

Could not believe, though, I got under the car to spray some penetrating lube on the current bolts in hopes they will come off without stripping....found two of the mounting sites don't have bolts or bushings and the bushings that should be under the door are missing as well :eek: Amazing what you find on these old cars when you look (and to think I have had this car for 19 years) :wacko:
