I spend roughly $300-$400 a month in fuel for my flex fuel Taurus. My buddy is converting his diesel ford work van to run on used veg oil which got me started thinking about buying a diesel car in the future and trying it. For now I have been seeing people supplementing the engines with hydrogen and getting %20-%70 increase in mileage. Anyone here try this or thinking about it? Sounds like they are getting the hydrogen the same way I use to get rust off of parts via baking soda, stainless rod, and battery charger. My co-worker said a guy on Youtube did this with household products and tapped it right into his plastic intake achieving like 25% mileage increases. I gotta get back top work, but wanted to get this thread rollin'. I am tired of this oil / government bull , so I am ready to do something.

I've done some reading on it but I remain skeptical. A buddy of mine says he's going to try it so I'm waiting to see the results.

I have an electrolyser half built in the garage right now. If you read up on it, it starts to make sense for a while and then the tinfoil hats come into play. It seems that some of the people with web pages missed out on middle and high-school science classes.
One of the things that a lot of people miss is that the best use of it is as a supplement, not a replacement for gasoline. In order to generate enough gas to replace gasoline, you would not only end up with a serious bomb under your hood, but a large net loss of energy.
I haven't had time lately to continue with my fooling around, but I have been reading, and it seems quite simple to do. One of the things I still need to figure out is why these guys are having to modify the output of their O2 sensors. They say (through their tinfoil hats) that the process of introducing HHO into the combustion chamber increases the amount of O2 in the exhaust so much that the sensors read lean, and so the computer richens the mixture up too much. At that point they are losing any mileage gains. Now, I ain't no rocket scientist, but the purpose of all this is to more completely burn the fuel. Combustion is oxidation, so at least under my propellored beany, there should be less O2 in the exhaust. This would indicate rich, and the engine would lean out (also very bad). This assumes that they are correct in that more O2 sensed means lean to the computer. I'm not sure which it is.
There is also one guy who talks about how the amount of oxygen in the air is dropping, some places down to like 5% and people are having to buy canned O2 to survive. He also says that HHO would help this since it adds oxygen to the atmosphere. That is where I stop reading and head for another source.
Anyways, I'm in the process, but time is limited, and resources are few right now.

I Haven't had the chance to read some of the posts but these are two forums that cover the topic.

As far as the computer and the o2 sensors go I was wondering some of the same things. I figured I needed to dive deeper into this before making any claims or goals. The theory is interesting to learn about, but I remain skeptical. Seems though there are quite a few of these guys doing this and not trying to sell anything which leads me to believe it may work.
