I looked into getting an air ride kit for my 72 but the price on thise those things are 6800.00 for the street challenge set up before installation. Is there any welding that needs to be done? What I am leaning to is either a full Hotchkis or CCP suspension along including tubular control arms and trailing arms. Also going with QA1 shocks. I feel the later is a bit cheaper and more traditional vs the bags. What would you do to pull your car out of the 70's handling wise?

I am also going with CCP's big brake kit. 13's on the front and 12's on the rear. What are the pitfalls of the 1" drop spindles. Some say they are not a wise choice and others say it corrects camber. My car is already low but has SB springs w/spacers. Should I go to a stiffer BB spring and cut it along with the drop spindles to help with the bottoming out?

I would say check out SC&C.

The Street Challenge kit is basically the best of the best of every thing that we offer. You could get a really nice kit for that car for quite a bit less. Think about this setup....

SKW1018-LUCA Front Shockwaves (single adj.) w/ upper and lower arms
ARR20801-LUCA Rear CoolRide w/ upper and lower arms
ARC4100e2 RidePro e2 compressor system.

Total price- $3993

Well that is a better price but wont that still be more than the Hotchkis full suspension with tubular arms? What kind of handling can I expect from that air ride kit vs the Hotchkis? That would be the difference maker.

SC&C  www.scandc.com

Avoid Hotchkis, Global West, and anybody else that thinks the B-spindle is still the hot setup. Also avoid anyone who thinks poly-bushed rigid rear arms will improve handling.

You want to fix the camber curve without screwing up the steering geometry, and eliminate as much bind from the rear suspension as possible. SC&C seems to be the only company in the A-body market that understands these very basic concepts. :o

just to throw it out there, you could also get a truckarm setup (hotrodstohell.net) for the rear and some tubular control arms for the front for about half of what that air ride stuff will cost.
i'm not saying it's the best or worst design out there, but it's definitely better than stock.
