Hey,
Question: I seem to have 2 hoses teed from my drivers side valve cover. Is this normal? I could not get a proper pcv valve for this hose so I kept the one going to the carb(front). The other hose goes to a black container which has 2 hoses that go out and one seems to go back to the carb (rear - would have to confirm). The other hose seems to go down below(I couldnt check due to my back GRRR). I bought the 1 PCV and capped the other hose, could I be doing damage to something? I did a search and I didnt see any pictures similiar to my explanation nor even anyone that has explained a T out from the drivers side valve cover.

Alot of times, There is only one 3/8" vacuum port. If you run a pcv, and have power brakes, people will tee into the line for the booster. It doesn't do damage, but you may notice you can't pump the brakes too many times before they get hard. On my performance engines, I don't even run a PCV, I use two breathers into an evacuation hose down to the exhaust. The booster shouldn't really be tee'd into. Can you get away with it? Sure.

The black thing the lines go into, does it look like a globe or a coffee can? The globe is a vacuum storage apparatus, the coffee can is a charcoal canister. (vent filter) You could, if you wanted to, take all that stuff out and it wouldn't hurt anything. All that the engine needs, is to vent crankcase pressure. Period. All that the PCV and the vacuum canister do, is try to vent them somewhere that won't create emmissions.
